Isn’t life fine when you’re away from work and the weather and the location are both amazing! We left Manchester early Saturday for Wally’s second visit to the Peak District, this time only 37 miles from home, staying at Knotlow Farm near Flagg village. This is a huge campsite but fortunately for us it was very quiet and Wally was able to park right up beside his new campervan friends Paula and Glenys.
We had a lovely walk on Saturday afternoon with great views, friendly cows and a refreshing pint at the Queens Arms in Taddington.
And to finish a superb day out, we, as well as most of the campers on the site, had a roaring fire to keep us warm whilst enjoying good company and some star gazing.
On Sunday, after a lazy morning, nearly everybody got ready to go for a ride. The roads around this area are perfect for cycling, there’s also the High Peak and Tissington Trails nearby.
And after the ride there was still enthusiasm for an afternoon walk, on which we encountered this lovely wild forest. As per the previous day the walk took much longer than planned (must have been the stop at the pub) so it was lucky that we only had a short drive back home. Wish we could have stayed, but it won’t be long until the next adventure!
